Mechanical Engineer – Production Line Maintenance (Soft Drinks & Bottled Water Industry)

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on all production and utility machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in bottling, packaging, and filling lines.
  • Oversee maintenance of pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize production interruptions.
  • Ensure machinery performance aligns with OEM standards and safety regulations.

2. Preventive Maintenance Planning:

  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for all mechanical systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS software.
  • Plan and schedule machine overhauls and component replacements.

3. Equipment Installation & Commissioning:

  • Participate in the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new machines and production lines.
  • Review mechanical drawings, assembly layouts, and machine specifications.
  • Ensure smooth integration of new machinery into existing systems.

4. Process Improvement & Optimization:

  • Analyze recurring mechanical issues and propose engineering solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase line efficiency and reduce energy or material waste.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma).

5. Spare Parts & Inventory Management:

  • Identify required spare parts and critical components and ensure their availability.
  • Coordinate with the procurement department to maintain adequate spare parts inventory.
  • Monitor consumption of lubricants, filters, and mechanical consumables.

6. Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure maintenance work is carried out following HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks before major maintenance jobs.
  • Promote a safety-first culture within the maintenance team.


Skills

  • achelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in production line maintenance within the soft drinks or bottled water industry.
  • Strong knowledge of filling, packaging, labeling, and blow molding equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with machines from Krones, Sidel, KHS, or similar manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting, alignment, and assembly.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills.
