· Review tender documents, project specifications, structural drawings, and bill of quantities related to steel structure fabrication and erection.
· Lead the preparation of cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, overheads, and margins.
· Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning, and production departments to gather input data (material take-offs, fabrication hours, production capacity, etc.).
· Analyze fabrication methods, shop floor operations, and welding/assembly processes to optimize production cost estimates.
· Evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations for raw materials (plates, beams, bolts), outsourced services (e.g. galvanizing, sandblasting), and transport/logistics.
· Develop and update unit cost databases for steel components and fabrication processes based on historical data.
· Prepare detailed estimation reports, BOQ breakdowns, and value engineering alternatives.
· Lead internal pricing reviews and support the commercial team during client negotiations.
· Participate in post-tender reviews and cost analysis of awarded projects to refine future estimations.
