Lab Section Head

  • Lead and supervise daily operations within the laboratory section, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory protocols and quality control procedures for confectionery products.
  • Coordinate and oversee the analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Manage, train, and mentor laboratory staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and validated according to industry standards.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, quality documentation, and data analysis to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements.
  • Monitor and enforce safety and hygiene standards within the laboratory environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new testing methodologies, and regulatory changes relevant to food safety and quality.
  • Support audits and inspections by internal and external bodies, ensuring laboratory readiness and compliance.

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in a laboratory environment within the food industry, preferably in confectionery or FMCG.Proven experience in leading or supervising laboratory teams.Strong knowledge of quality control, food safety standards, and laboratory best practices.Familiarity with ISO 22000, ISO 9001, HACCP, and other relevant quality management systems.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Ability to interpret and analyze laboratory data and technical reports.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team leadership.Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.Willingness to work on-site and adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
