1. Network Administration

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless networks (Wi-Fi).
  • Monitor network performance and ensure availability and reliability.
  • Manage routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and antivirus tools.
  • Perform regular network performance tests and optimize for speed and efficiency.

2. System Administration

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows Server, Linux, etc.) and ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage Active Directory, including user accounts, groups, policies, and access permissions.
  • Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions for critical systems and data.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
  • Ensure all systems are updated with the latest patches and security updates.

3. Security and Compliance

  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity best practices to protect the organization from internal and external threats.
  • Perform periodic audits of systems and networks to ensure compliance with IT policies and standards.
  • Monitor system and network logs for potential threats or anomalies.
  • Provide solutions for data encryption, endpoint protection, and secure access controls.

4. User Support

  • Provide advanced-level IT support to end-users for system and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity problems, including VPN and remote access issues.
  • Coordinate with other IT teams to resolve escalated issues.

5. IT Infrastructure Management

  • Maintain hardware inventory, including servers, networking devices, and peripherals.
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Conduct capacity planning to ensure IT infrastructure meets current and future needs.

6. Documentation

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for network configurations, system architectures, and operational procedures.
  • Develop training materials and provide guidance to end-users and junior IT staff.

1. EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).Equivalent experience or certifications may substitute for formal education.2. Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory)Networking Certifications:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)CompTIA Network+System Administration Certifications:Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator AssociateRed Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)Security Certifications:CompTIA Security+Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)3. Experience2-5 years of experience in a similar role.Hands-on experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) is an advantage.
