Material Planning Engineer

  • Develop accurate material requirement forecasts based on project demands, production schedules, and historical usage data.
  • Work with project managers and production teams to plan Raw materials & Spare parts in alignment with project deadlines and installation phases.
  • Continuously review and adjust forecasts based on project changes, material lead times, and usage rates.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production needs while minimizing excess stock.
  • Conduct regular reviews of stock levels, lead times, and demand patterns to ensure timely availability of materials in coordination with the Warehouse & Production planning teams.
  • Implement strategies to reduce excess inventory, manage stockouts, and optimize warehouse storage space.
  • Collaborate with procurement team to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to address potential delays, quality issues, or adjustments in quantity.
  • Assist in creating material budgets and cost forecasts based on project requirements with the stakeholders
  • Track and analyze material costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report variances against budget.
  • Work closely with procurement and the plant teams to identify alternative suppliers or materials when cost-effective options are required.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure that materials are available as per production and project schedules.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust material plans as needed to meet changes in production demands.
  • Support the operations team by communicating any potential material shortages or delays that could impact production.
  • Maintain accurate records of material requirements, forecasts, inventory levels, and usage trends.
  • Generate regular reports on material availability, inventory status, and project-specific material tracking.
  • Document best practices, lessons learned, and areas for improvement in material planning processes.
  • Ensure that materials meet company and industry quality standards and comply with relevant safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with quality control teams to monitor incoming material quality and address non-conformance issues.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives by working closely with suppliers and internal teams.

5+ years of experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain management, must in the insulation or building materials industry.Proficiency in ERP systems and inventory management software.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and coordination abilities for cross-functional collaboration.Familiarity with quality, safety, and environmental standards in insulation or construction materials.
