We are seeking a Planning Engineer with expertise in optimizing production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will drive efficiency, manage resources effectively, and ensure smooth demand-to-delivery processes. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of production planning, resource management, and risk mitigation, with a focus on optimizing production schedules to meet customer demands. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, inventory, procurement, and quality control, to align production schedules with operational capabilities and materials availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage production schedules aligned with customer orders, production capacity, and material availability.
- Track and update order progress, ensuring adherence to production timelines and identifying any potential bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with the Inventory team to ensure materials are available for production, and coordinate with Procurement for timely material replenishment.
- Real-time schedule adjustments based on unexpected delays, machine breakdowns, or labor shortages to minimize impact on overall efficiency.
- Communicate production plans and timelines across departments, including Production, Procurement, Sales, and Quality Control.
- Proactively manage risks, including material shortages or machine downtimes, and adjust schedules to mitigate disruptions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, production lead times, and resource utilization, reporting to senior management.
- Optimize material stock levels, coordinating with Procurement to ensure timely reordering and avoiding production delays.
- Identify areas for process improvement by analyzing production data, reducing downtime, and increasing throughput.
- Support cross-departmental coordination, ensuring alignment between production schedules and operational capacity.
- Maintain accurate production records, documenting scheduling changes and performance data for process improvement.
- Provide regular updates to the Sales and Customer Service team on production progress, potential delays, and order fulfillment.
- Develop and maintain SOPs related to production scheduling and materials planning to ensure consistency and quality in production processes.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.2-4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related role in a manufacturing environment. Experience in PVC manufacturing or home appliances is preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking and analyzing production data. ERP/MRP experience is preferred.Strong understanding of resource management, capacity planning, and supply chain operations.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or other process improvement methodologies is a plus. SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination across departments.Excellent English language skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Good understanding of production processes and resource management.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage complex production schedules
