Job Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and skilled Arabic Language Editor to join our team. In this role, you will review, edit, and enhance Arabic content for our games' scripts and presentations for schools, ensuring linguistic accuracy, clarity, and cultural relevance. You will collaborate with game writers and designers to produce high-quality content that aligns with our company’s goals and appeals to Arabic-speaking audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate game scripts, presentations, and marketing materials from English to Arabic, ensuring the original meaning, tone, and style are preserved.
- Review and edit game scripts, in-game dialogues, and written content to ensure linguistic accuracy and fluency in Arabic.
- Correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors in Arabic text for presentations, marketing materials, and user interfaces.
- Ensure the tone, style, and voice of Arabic content aligns with the game’s narrative and target audience.
- Collaborate with game developers, designers, and writers to ensure consistency and clarity in translations and original Arabic writing.
- Ensure that translations retain the original meaning and tone, aligning with the educational and gaming content.
- Provide feedback to scriptwriters and content creators on language and style improvements.
- Ensure cultural and contextual appropriateness of Arabic content, considering regional differences in dialects and language use.
- Proofread user manuals, tutorials, and player instructions to ensure they are easy to understand and error-free.
- Maintain consistency in terminology across all Arabic content for different projects.
Qualifications: Proficiency in both Arabic and English, with excellent translation skills between the two languages. Fluency in Arabic, with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong knowledge of Arabic grammar, syntax, and punctuation. Ability to work with different Arabic dialects as needed by the game’s context (e.g., Modern Standard Arabic, Gulf dialect). Previous experience as a language editor or corrector is preferred, especially within the gaming or entertainment industry. Experience in localization or translation for the gaming industry. A passion for video games and an understanding of gaming culture and narratives. Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with various teams. Familiarity with game script writing and storytelling is a plus. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
