Job Purpose:
The Senior Legal Counsel will provide full-time legal support to DHL Express entities in the Middle East and North Africa, focusing on Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. This role establishes the first in-house legal presence for the Company and will handle regulatory matters impacting DHL Express business in the MENA region. This includes postal regulatory matters, data privacy/data protection matters, and anti-trust matters.
Key responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including customer, supplier, construction, employment, and IT contracts.
- Provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance to internal stakeholders across the company.
- Lead projects and practice groups to enhance efficiencies and standardization in legal processes.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel and specialists in diverse areas of law.
- Stay informed of relevant legal developments and changes, ensuring compliance and mitigating potential risks.
- Identify and address compliance issues, implementing preventive measures as necessary.
- Represent the company in trade organizations and before government bodies.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports, manage administrative tasks, and provide solutions for complex legal challenges.
- Support the Head of Legal MENAT and report to the DHL Express CEO MENA, making informed decisions based on legal expertise.
- Manage multiple tasks and activities effectively, prioritizing in alignment with business strategy and legal requirements.
Your profile:
- Degree in law from a recognized institution.
- 8+ years of working experience in legal
- At least 6 years of proven general counsel experience in a multinational business environment.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Strong compliance and international mindset
- Commercial and corporate awareness.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- High degree of personal integrity.
- Proficient IT skills.
