Role purpose:
This role is part of the new centralised IT team within Vodafone Shared Services. The Application Infrastructure Architect defines the architecture and guidelines for the application landscape of the entire VSS organisation with 17,000+ employees. The role is responsible for developing a VSS-wide application architecture model, which enables the continued growth of the VSS organisation and is consistent across the four VSS locations (India, Egypt, Rumanian, Hungary).
The Application Infrastructure Architect supports early-stage projects in reviewing technical solution and ensure architecture-compliant IT solution designs and deriving high-level effort estimations. The role also reviews and approves solution designs of new applications for internal VSS usage.
The Application Architect collaborates closely with:
• Team colleagues for network and infrastructure architecture to ensure that the various architecture aspects tie into each other
• TSSC team for implementation of the architecture guidelines
• Information Security Team to ensure security guidelines are reflected in the application architecture
• VSS-external peers to ensure alignment with the wider Vodafone IT application landscape
The Architect also owns and maintains the Application Lifecycle Management tool, which keeps records of all application currently in use within VSS.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Define and own the application infrastructure architecture for the entire VSS organisation, promote buy-in from business and IT side for the common architecture model
- Support service transition projects in architecture-compliant solution designs, effort-estimation, vendor selection and implementation approach
- Review solution designs and ensure adherence to the VSS application architecture guidelines
- Ensure alignment of the application architecture with (a) the network and infrastructure architecture and (b) the Vodafone-Group architecture model and standards for IT applications
- Own and maintain the Application Lifecycle Management tool
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Experience in developing reference architecture models for the IT application landscape of a global IT organisation
- Deep understanding of different contact centre applications and high availability such as Genesys, Genesys CX and AVAYA or AWS Connect
- Understanding of CRM applications and CTI integrations along with WFM and recording solutions
- Understanding of Channels, Bots and automation in Contact Centre domain.
- Understanding of API integration and SIP Communication
- Understanding of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL and eTOM
- Proven track-record in defining application infrastructure solution designs and cloud solutions for complex IT projects
- Experience working for a large scale global communication service provider or IT organization
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Technical Degree
- 5+ years’ experience in Contact Centre Solution
