Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

A leading real estate development company is seeking an exceptional Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer to establish and lead the company's entire financial function from the ground up.

This is not a traditional finance management role. We are looking for a strategic financial leader capable of building a complete financial organization, implementing robust financial systems, developing governance and internal controls, and supporting executive management in making critical business decisions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in launching and managing the financial operations of a large-scale real estate development project in the North Coast, while working closely with shareholders, investors, banks, consultants, and executive management.

The role requires a hands-on leader who combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and has extensive experience within real estate development companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Build the company's finance department from the ground up.

• Develop the overall financial strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.

• Design and implement financial policies, procedures, governance frameworks, and internal controls.

• Establish accounting systems and reporting structures.

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

• Prepare project feasibility studies and financial models.

• Develop and monitor project cash flow projections.

• Manage treasury operations and optimize liquidity.

• Lead relationships with banks and financial institutions.

• Negotiate financing facilities and project funding.

• Prepare reports for shareholders and investors.

• Present financial performance and strategic recommendations to the Board of Directors.

• Oversee accounting, treasury, collections, procurement financial control, taxation, and internal audit.

• Ensure full compliance with Egyptian accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal requirements.

• Select and implement a suitable ERP system (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).

• Establish financial KPIs and performance monitoring systems.

• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

• Recruit, build, and develop a high-performing finance team.

Requirements

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA, CMA, ACCA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent professional qualifications are highly preferred.

• 12+ years of progressive finance experience.

• Extensive experience within real estate development companies is mandatory.

• Previous experience establishing finance departments or leading financial transformation initiatives.

• Strong background in project finance and real estate financial modeling.

• Proven experience with banking relationships and financing facilities.

• Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash flow management, and financial planning.

• Experience dealing with investors and board reporting.

• Strong knowledge of ERP implementation (Odoo, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).

• Deep understanding of taxation, accounting standards, internal controls, and corporate governance.

• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and build scalable financial operations.
