Role Description:
We are looking for a Design Review Architect with a strong architectural design background and proven experience in BIM-based design consultancy. The role will be responsible for reviewing architectural design packages, BIM models, drawings, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements, design standards, applicable codes, and quality expectations prior to submission to the Dubai design team.
The ideal candidate should have strong design judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to identify design, coordination, documentation, and constructability issues at various stages of the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Review architectural designs, drawings, specifications, and BIM models for compliance with project requirements and design standards. Conduct pre-submission design reviews and identify design discrepancies, omissions, clashes, and coordination issues. Review architectural BIM models and drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across design disciplines. Assess design solutions from architectural, functional, technical, aesthetic, and constructability perspectives. Review design development and detailed design packages prior to submission to the Dubai design team. Ensure architectural deliverables comply with approved design concepts, project standards, BIM requirements, and applicable regulations. Coordinate with Architecture, Structural, MEP, Interior, Landscape, and other disciplines to identify and resolve interdisciplinary issues. Review BIM models using Revit, Navisworks, or other relevant BIM platforms. Identify model quality issues including incorrect modelling, missing information, inconsistencies, and coordination gaps. Provide clear and technically sound review comments to design teams and follow up on their closure. Verify that review comments have been appropriately incorporated into revised submissions. Support design teams in improving the quality and consistency of architectural deliverables. Review drawings for design intent, technical detailing, dimensions, layouts, annotations, schedules, and documentation quality. Identify potential constructability and workability issues and recommend practical design solutions. Ensure consistency between BIM models, drawings, schedules, specifications, and other project documentation. Participate in design coordination meetings and provide architectural input on technical and design-related matters. Maintain design review checklists and contribute to continuous improvement of design quality and BIM workflows.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related discipline.8+ years of relevant architectural experience, preferably within a design consultancy environment. Strong background in architectural design and design development, with experience working on large-scale residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use projects. Proven experience in BIM-based design and documentation. Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with Navisworks. Experience reviewing architectural BIM models and multidisciplinary coordination. Good understanding of architectural detailing, construction methodologies, materials, and building systems. Experience with high-rise, residential, hospitality, or other complex building projects is highly desirable. Previous experience in a design review, technical review, QA/QC, or consultant-side role will be an advantage. Good understanding of applicable building codes, standards, and authority requirements. Strong knowledge of architectural design principles and construction documentation.
