Role Description The Commercial & QS Engineer – Electrical role is a full-time, on-site position based in Egypt. The individual in this role will manage electrical cost estimation, quantity surveying, and commercial activities for construction and fit-out projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing bills of quantities, analyzing drawings and specifications, and supporting tender preparation and evaluation for electrical systems. The role involves coordinating with project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive quotations, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with project budgets and contractual requirements. The Commercial & QS Engineer – Electrical will also assist in contract administration, variation analysis, cost reporting, and value engineering, while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting timely project delivery.
Qualifications
Sales Engineering and Sales skills to support commercial activities, client proposals, and technically informed offers. Strong Communication and Negotiation skills to collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, and to secure favorable commercial terms. Training skills to support knowledge transfer, onboarding of team members, and continuous improvement of commercial and QS practices. Solid background in Electrical Engineering with experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and commercial management in construction or fit-out projects. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts, and to prepare accurate bills of quantities and cost reports. Proficiency in relevant QS and estimation software, MS Office (particularly Excel), and documentation tools. Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills with attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; prior experience in a similar role in Egypt or the region is an advantage.
