Job Details

  • We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join and gradually lead a new engineering design office focused on industrial equipment and machinery.

  • The role will involve developing, improving, standardizing, and documenting existing equipment designs, as well as designing new industrial products and systems.

  • Main responsibilities include:

    • Design industrial machinery, equipment, steel structures, and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks.

    • Develop existing company designs into standardized and repeatable products.

    • Prepare complete 3D models, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.

    • Design sheet-metal components, weldments, frames, ducts, hoppers, conveyors, tanks, and fabricated assemblies.

    • Review manufacturability and optimize designs for cutting, bending, welding, assembly, and maintenance.

    • Perform engineering calculations and component selection where required.

    • Maintain proper drawing revisions, design documentation, and engineering records.

    • Coordinate with workshops and suppliers during prototype manufacturing and production.

    • Attend workshop visits when required for prototype inspection, testing, and design improvement.

    • Support current projects with technical drawings and engineering documentation.

    • Help establish design standards, templates, libraries, and engineering procedures.

    • In the future, supervise junior design engineers as the engineering team grows.

  • The work is focused on industrial equipment and machine design, not MEP design.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, preferably Production, Mechanical Design, or Mechatronics.

  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in mechanical or industrial equipment design.

  • Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks.

  • Excellent knowledge of:

    • Sheet Metal.

    • Weldments.

    • Mechanical assemblies.

    • Manufacturing drawings.

    • BOM preparation.

    • Tolerances and fits.

    • GD&T fundamentals.

  • Good understanding of steel fabrication processes, including laser cutting, bending, welding, machining, and assembly.

  • Ability to design equipment from concept through manufacturing drawings.

  • Experience following designs through workshop fabrication and prototype testing.

  • Ability to independently solve mechanical design problems.

  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.

  • Experience with conveyors, dust collectors, blasting equipment, industrial ventilation, material handling, or similar industrial machinery is an advantage.

  • Previous team-lead or mentoring experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

  • Good English technical reading and writing skills.
