About Aggarly
Aggarly is building the operating system for short-term rental management in the MENA region. Our platform brings property management, reservations, channel management, guest operations, staff operations, service providers, payments and automation into one connected ecosystem. We are approaching launch and are now hiring our first full-time engineering leader. This is not a traditional engineering management position. We are looking for someone who wants to take technical ownership of a startup, work directly with the founders, remain deeply hands-on, and build the engineering team around them.
The Role
As Head of Engineering, you will become the internal technical owner of Aggarly. You will inherit an existing production-stage platform and work closely with the founding team to understand, strengthen and evolve the architecture as we launch and scale. You will be expected to write code, make architecture decisions, improve engineering standards, own deployments and infrastructure, mentor engineers, and gradually build and lead the engineering organization. For the right person, this role is intended to develop into CTO as Aggarly grows.
What You’ll Own
Technical architecture and engineering direction Backend, frontend and mobile architecture Production reliability and performance AWS infrastructure and deployment practices CI/CD and engineering workflows Security and access-control practices Code quality, testing and technical debt Technical documentation Engineering hiring and mentorship Technical evaluation of new features and integrations Incident response and production troubleshooting Working directly with the CEO on product and technical priorities You will initially be highly hands-on. We are not looking for someone who only wants to manage engineers.

Our platform currently includes technologies such as:Python / Django React / Next.js React Native Postgre SQLRedis AWSDocker Terraform Git Hub / CI/CDExact stack matching is less important than strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to take ownership of a complex existing product.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced engineer or technical leader who has:Strong full-stack software engineering experience Deep backend and systems understanding Experience shipping and operating real production software Strong knowledge of databases, APIs and distributed systems Experience with cloud infrastructure Strong understanding of software architecture and security Experience reviewing and improving existing codebases Experience mentoring or leading engineers Strong debugging and problem-solving ability Good product judgment and business understanding Experience working in fast-moving startup environments Experience with Saa S, marketplaces, fintech/payments, travel technology or property technology is a strong advantage.
What Matters Most
We care less about titles and more about ownership. We want someone who takes responsibility when something breaks, challenges weak technical decisions, communicates clearly, and is capable of building systems rather than simply completing tickets. You should be comfortable moving between architecture discussions and writing production code. This is a full-time leadership position and Aggarly must be your primary professional commitment.
