Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Electric MEP Engineer role based in Cairo, Egypt. The Senior Electric MEP Engineer will lead the design, review, and implementation of electrical systems and MEP services for new stores, renovations, and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing electrical and MEP drawings, load calculations, and technical specifications, as well as ensuring compliance with local codes, safety standards, and company guidelines. The role involves coordinating with architects, civil engineers, mechanical and plumbing teams, contractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines and quality standards. The Senior Electric MEP Engineer will also perform site inspections, oversee testing and commissioning, support energy-efficiency initiatives, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Qualifications

Strong expertise in Electrical Engineering with a focus on building power distribution, lighting, low-current systems, and energy-efficient solutions. Proficiency in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) design and supervision, with hands-on experience in integrated building services. Demonstrated experience in MEP Coordination across disciplines, aligning designs and execution with architectural and structural requirements. Solid understanding of Building Services, including HVAC interfaces, fire alarm integration, and facility utilities relevant to retail and commercial projects. Working knowledge of Plumbing systems design and coordination within overall MEP packages. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline; professional certification or membership in a recognized engineering body is an advantage. Proficiency in design and coordination tools (e.g., Auto CAD, Revit MEP or similar), and familiarity with relevant international and local codes and standards.5+ years of experience in MEP engineering, with significant responsibility for electrical and MEP design and site supervision in commercial or retail projects. Strong project management, time management, and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to lead coordination meetings and resolve technical issues on-site.
