Role Description The Senior Mechanical Site Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for overseeing mechanical works on construction sites, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines. Daily tasks include reviewing and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications, coordinating with design, civil, and electrical teams, and supervising contractors and technicians during installation, testing, and commissioning activities. The Senior Mechanical Site Engineer conducts site inspections, assesses progress, resolves technical issues, and prepares reports and documentation for project stakeholders. The role also involves managing materials and equipment, supporting maintenance planning, and ensuring adherence to quality control procedures and site safety regulations.
Qualifications
Strong background in Mechanical Engineering with hands-on experience in site-based mechanical works for construction projects. Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for reviewing, modifying, and coordinating mechanical drawings and layouts. Demonstrated skills in Maintenance and Inspection of mechanical systems, including testing, commissioning, and quality control on-site. Experience with automotive or heavy construction equipment is an advantage, particularly related to mechanical systems and site logistics. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Proven experience in a similar role within large-scale construction projects, preferably as a site or senior mechanical engineer. Knowledge of relevant mechanical codes, standards, and safety regulations applicable to building and infrastructure projects. Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced site environment. Effective communication and team collaboration skills, including coordination with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. Ability to work full-time on-site in Cairo, Egypt and adapt to changing project needs and schedules.
