Role Summary:
We are seeking a strategic, high-energy SEO Team Leader to head our organic growth department. This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional who has mastered the technical and strategic aspects of SEO and is now ready to lead a team of specialists to success. You will be responsible for defining the agency’s SEO roadmap, mentoring junior talent, and ensuring our clients (and our brand) dominate the search engine results pages (SERPs) through innovative, data-driven leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and oversee high-level SEO roadmaps for multiple clients, ensuring alignment with their broader business objectives and ROI targets. Mobile Growth Strategy: Develop and lead comprehensive App Store Optimization (ASO) strategies for both i OS (App Store) and Android (Google Play) to increase app discoverability and conversion rates. Team Mentorship & Management: Lead, mentor, and train a team of SEO specialists and content creators, fostering a culture of continuous learning and performance excellence. Workflow Optimization: Audit and refine internal SEO processes, reporting templates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to scale agency operations efficiently. High-Level Technical Oversight: Act as the final point of escalation for complex technical SEO issues, including large-scale site migrations and advanced Java Script rendering challenges. Resource Allocation: Manage team bandwidth and project timelines, ensuring high-quality delivery across all accounts. Stakeholder Management: Present complex SEO insights and long-term growth strategies to C-suite executives and key stakeholders with clarity and confidence. Innovation & R&D: Spearhead the integration of AI tools, automation, and emerging search trends (like SGE/AI Overviews) into the agency’s service offering. Cross-Departmental Synergy: Collaborate with Paid Media, Dev, and Creative leads to build holistic "Search" strategies that leverage cross-channel data.
Requirements:
Experience: 5-7+ years in SEO, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, IT, or a related field (Master’s or MBA is a plus). Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage a team, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts in a fast-paced agency environment. Advanced Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Java Script is mandatory, specifically regarding how they impact SEO and site performance. Tool Proficiency: Expertise in ASO-specific platforms such as App Tweak, Sensor Tower, or App Annie (data.ai), in addition to standard SEO suites. Mobile Savvy: Deep understanding of the specific ranking factors for Apple’s App Store vs. Google Play Store (e.g., the impact of ratings/reviews, crash rates, and install velocity). Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with App Indexing and deep-linking (connecting web content directly to app screens) to drive a seamless user experience. Data Command: Exceptional ability to turn raw data from Google Analytics 4, Big Query, or Search Console into actionable business narratives. Project Management: Proficiency in tools like Asana, Click Up, Jira, or Trello to manage team workflows. Strategic Vision: Ability to look beyond "keywords" and understand the impact of SEO on the entire marketing funnel.
