About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Design Engineer to oversee the design, development, and testing of medium voltage circuit breakers, RMUs, and instrument transformers (CTs & VTs). The role requires a strong technical leader who can guide a design team, ensure compliance with international standards, and drive continuous improvement across all design activities. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in MV switchgear engineering, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, production, and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities Design Leadership Lead, supervise, and mentor the electrical design team for MV switchgear and related equipment. Provide technical guidance and ensure engineering best practices are consistently applied. Manage design reviews, technical approvals, and engineering change processes. Product Design & Development Develop and review electrical schematics, SLDs, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. Coordinate electrical and mechanical interfaces for complete MV switchgear assemblies. Oversee and validate the design of busbar systems, rear panel arrangements, and internal wiring. Ensure all designs meet IEC standards, safety regulations, and manufacturability requirements. Testing & Verification Supervise and participate in the testing and evaluation of MV current and voltage transformers. Collaborate with the testing department to analyze results and address non-conformities. Cross-Functional Coordination Work closely with R&D, production, and quality teams to resolve technical issues. Communicate with suppliers, customers, and certification bodies regarding design requirements and compliance. Documentation & Compliance Manage engineering documentation, design updates, and version control. Ensure accurate BOMs, drawings, and technical files are maintained and approved.
Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering . Minimum 7 years of experience in MV switchgear design, testing, or related electrical equipment. Strong understanding of medium voltage systems, protection schemes, and IEC standards. Hands-on experience in testing and evaluation of MV CTs and VTs. Proven leadership experience managing or supervising engineering teams. Proficient in Auto CAD Electrical and competent in simulation/design tools. Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent communication and technical reporting skills in English.
