Position Title: Process / Continuous Improvement Engineer

Position Summary:
The Process or Continuous Improvement Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence within the industrial group. This role focuses on analyzing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes, workflows, and systems to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality while reducing waste and costs. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other improvement strategies aligned with the company’s operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Analysis and Improvement:
- Evaluate existing manufacturing and operational processes for inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste.
- Develop, document, and implement standardized work processes to improve consistency and quality.
- Conduct time studies, workflow analyses, and capacity assessments to identify areas of improvement.
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Lead and facilitate lean and Six Sigma projects to optimize processes and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, productivity, and quality.
- Drive the implementation of cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining or improving product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Implement process control systems to sustain improvements and ensure compliance with established standards.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and root causes of issues.
- Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to management.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions, making adjustments as necessary.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams to understand challenges and develop solutions.
- Train and mentor employees on lean methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Project Management:
- Plan and manage improvement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and achievement of goals.
- Develop project charters, timelines, and budgets, tracking progress and addressing any deviations.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all process improvement initiatives comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with process changes.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in process engineering, continuous improvement, or a related role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Preference is given to candidates with experience in the automotive industry.
Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in process simulation tools, statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab), and CAD tools.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems such as ERP/MRP and MES.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental standards in an industrial setting.
