About The Role

At Octane, technology is a key driver of innovation, product excellence, and scalable growth. As a Back-End Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the systems and services that power our products and platforms.

This role is designed for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for building reliable, secure, and scalable backend solutions. You will collaborate closely with front-end engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop robust APIs, optimize system performance, and ensure the stability of our applications as Octane continues to grow.

What You'll Be Doing

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs. Build and optimize server-side applications, databases, and system architecture. Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure seamless integration between client and server components. Develop secure, efficient, and reliable solutions that support business needs. Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve application performance and system reliability. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices. Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions and knowledge sharing. Implement testing strategies to ensure application quality and stability. Stay up to date with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, and development practices.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field4–7 years of experience in back-end development Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or C#Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices Strong understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Familiarity with containerization and deployment tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills Understanding of security best practices and scalable system design Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Strong communication and teamwork skills Detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about building reliable backend systems
