Role Description: The Furniture Technical Office Engineer is a full-time, on-site role located in El Obour city, Egypt. This role involves preparing detailed technical drawings and shop drawings for furniture production, including material specifications, hardware details, and assembly instructions. The engineer coordinates with design teams, production staff, and suppliers to clarify technical requirements, optimize manufacturing processes, and resolve design or production issues. Daily tasks include reviewing client and designer specifications, preparing bills of materials and cutting lists, verifying measurements and joinery details, and ensuring that all documentation aligns with quality standards and project timelines. The role also includes supporting cost estimation, improving production workflows, and maintaining organized records of drawings, revisions, and technical data. Qualifications Strong proficiency in technical drawing and CAD software (e.g., Auto CAD, Solid Works) for furniture design and detailing. Knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, materials (wood, metal, upholstery), hardware, and joinery techniques. Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings, and translate them into clear production documents. Experience preparing bills of materials, cutting lists, and production schedules with attention to accuracy and cost efficiency. Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot design or production issues in coordination with workshop teams. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers, production staff, suppliers, and clients. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Applied Arts, Interior Design, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in a furniture factory or technical office environment in the furniture industry is an advantage.
