Role Description The Geographic Information System (GIS) Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo. The specialist will manage, analyze, and visualize geospatial data to support client projects and internal decision-making. Daily responsibilities include collecting and organizing spatial datasets, creating and updating maps, running spatial analyses, and maintaining GIS databases and related documentation. The role also involves collaborating with project teams to translate business requirements into GIS workflows, preparing clear reports and visual outputs, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The GIS Specialist will support continuous improvement of GIS tools, standards, and processes to enhance service quality. Qualifications Strong Analytical Skills to interpret geospatial information, identify patterns, and support data-driven decisions. Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and tools for spatial analysis and visualization. Experience in Data Management, including organizing, cleaning, and maintaining spatial and non-spatial datasets. Ability to work with Geospatial Data and create accurate, clear Maps for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Familiarity with spatial databases (e.g., Post GIS), mapping tools (e.g., Arc GIS, QGIS), and basic scripting or automation is an advantage. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. Experience working on location-based projects or consulting assignments is beneficial.
