We are seeking a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design and analysis of steel structures and tensile membrane structural systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing structural calculations, developing engineering designs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
This is a remote position. You will be working with a team of 5-7 structural engineers.
Key Responsibilities:Design steel structures, including equipment platforms, tensile membrane support frames, mezzanines, and canopies. Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, and technical documentation to support project deliverables. Develop Excel spreadsheets and/or Mathcad worksheets for the analysis and design of various structural components, ensuring strict adherence to industry codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, etc.). Perform hand calculations for structural analysis and design, including but not limited to seismic design, wind loading, and other relevant load cases, ensuring compliance with applicable design codes and standards. Develop and review engineering drawings and specifications in Auto CAD, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and constructability. Conduct load analysis, wind, and seismic design calculations in accordance with industry standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, etc.). Work closely with CAD drafters to ensure structural drawings align with design calculations and project specifications. Stay up to date with advancements in structural engineering, industry trends, and software applications to improve design efficiency and accuracy. Qualifications & Skills:Strong understanding of structural analysis methods, load paths, and material behavior. Familiarity with national codes and standards (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, etc.). Ability to perform detailed structural calculations and generate engineering reports. Experience in steel and tensile membranes is required. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and teamwork skills
Education and Experience:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.1-2 years of experience in structural design, with a focus on Steel Structures
