Roles and Responsibilities for Electrical Engineer 20+Yrs of Experience. Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.20+ years hands-on experience in electrical engineering and PC&IS in an industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Site Electrical Permits & MOW Approval:-Solely responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and renewing all electrical permits for the site.-Provides final approval for all Method of Work (MOW) documents for electrical, instrumentation, and control system tasks, ensuring safety, technical accuracy, and compliance.
2) Project Support & Contractor Oversight:-Creates detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for all project managers for new electrical and PC&IS scopes.-Reviews and verifies actual completed electrical and PC&IS work performed by contractors, reporting progress and quality to project managers.-Acts as the primary technical interface for contractors on electrical and PC&IS projects.
3) Electrical Engineering Leadership:-Leads the design, specification, and engineering of all electrical power systems (low, medium, high voltage), motor controls (MCCs, VFDs), and critical power infrastructure.-Conducts complex power system analysis (load flow, short circuit, arc flash) to ensure system integrity and safety.-Ensures all electrical installations and modifications comply with NEC, IEEE, IEC, and local codes.-Oversees grounding, bonding, lightning protection, and hazardous area classification compliance.
4) PC&IS Expertise (Process Control & Instrumentation Systems):-Knowledge the design, programming, and implementation of industrial control systems (PLCs, DCS, SCADA, HMIs).-Expert-level PLC programming and troubleshooting across multiple platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens), including Ladder Logic, Structured Text, --Function Blocks, and I/O (Input/Output) mapping/diagnostics.-Directs the selection, configuration, and calibration of field instrumentation (transmitters, sensors, final control elements). Troubleshoots complex control system failures, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.-Designs and maintains industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
