Job Purpose

Work closely on the integration of Sustainable Finance within the policies, operations, and culture of departments by working closely to assist relevant stakeholders in developing frameworks, guidelines, policies, and procedures aligned with ESG principles. To support in identifying the eligible projects under the green finance programs & climate Finance and support CIB Clients on the requirements and standards of product development.

Key Accountabilities

1.Assist in integrating the bank’s sustainable finance commitments, policy and frameworks within the policies, operations, and culture of all bank’s departments and lines of business in order to enact a professional system to deliver on Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) commitments.

2.Support in the development of policy frameworks & guidelines that set alignment on different thematic commitments and practical guidelines within the bank, e.g. climate change, alternative energy, gender equality, child labor, energy efficiency, …etc to ensure the implementation of the Development Financial Institutions frameworks and guidelines across the bank

3.Support with the direct investment/clients in establishing the bank’s eligibility criteria for funding or investments and meet systemic requirements of international frameworks including the implementation of the Principles for Responsible Banking to meet ESG funding programs requirements.

4.Document the integration of ESG principles and ESG performance across the bank’s Polices, SOPs and Polices guides to ensure the compliance of CIB frameworks commitments

5.Monitor the adherence to all laws, sustainability regulations and relevant frameworks, in order to meet all necessary governance requirements and that of international frameworks.

6.Assist with all Bank’s department to develop E&S KPIs to ensure integration of sustainability pillars within each function.

7.Assist in Green Bond technical due diligence requirement and any others ESG funded programs including reporting, project eligibility assessment and monitoring and evaluation as per program’s requirements.

8.Participate in the preparation & implementation of ESG Funded Programs according to Development partner’s requirements covering technical requirement to allocate the available funds according to development partner’s agreements.

9.Work closely with relevant stakeholders in establishing requirements that enhance the bank’s eligibility for external funding & sustainable investments as per the sustainable finance strategy.

10.Assist in the new services & operations that address the ESG pillars in order to finance the sustainable finance sector such energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable transportation…Support CIB clients in achieving compliance, planning and management of specific programs.

11.Monitor the benefits in market of CIB financing package in coordination with the related departments.

12. Coordinate in providing support for CIB Clients on the requirements and standards of sustainable finance different instruments (Sustainability linked loans, green bond & green loans)

Qualifications & Experience

§Bachelor’s degree Bachelor degree in in engineering, environmental science, environmental economics, chemistry or equivalent, or a related discipline

§For Officer: Minimum 3 -6 years of Experience in: industrial pollution abatement / cleaner production projects, resource efficiency, or environmental planning and management

§Experienced in Experience in managing major projects and multi-disciplinary project teams is essential.

§Previous experience with donor projects and procedures is essential.

§Sound knowledge of Egypt’s environmental laws or issues related to the environmental related regulations, is an asset.

§Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to understand and appropriately respond to project needs.

§Proven experience in preparing well-structured technical reports in English and Arabic.

§Proven credentials in energy management: CEM® (Certified Energy Manager) or CEA® (Certified Energy Auditor) from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE®) are required.
