About the Role The HVAC Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems and industrial cold rooms within the manufacturing facility. The role focuses on maintaining optimal environmental conditions, maximizing equipment availability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems and industrial cold rooms. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, evaporators, cooling towers, and air handling units (AHUs). Monitor cold room temperatures and ensure they remain within required operating parameters. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment. Execute maintenance plans according to the preventive maintenance schedule. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Maintain refrigerant systems in accordance with environmental and safety regulations. Monitor system performance and recommend energy-saving improvements. Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted operations. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts usage. Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, and occupational health & safety requirements. Supervise contractors during HVAC installation or major maintenance activities when required.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.4 years of experience in HVAC maintenance. Proven experience in the maintenance of industrial cold rooms and refrigeration systems within manufacturing plants (preferably FMCG or Food Manufacturing). Experience with preventive maintenance systems and CMMS is an advantage. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to read HVAC and refrigeration technical drawings. Strong commitment to safety procedures and quality standards.
