Cost Accountant Responsibilities
Develop and update a cost accounting system aligned with the company’s activity.
Calculate the cost of products or services and analyze cost elements (materials, labor, and indirect expenses).
Prepare periodic cost reports and submit them to management.
Analyze variances between actual and planned costs and explain their causes.
Monitor production costs and work on cost rationalization and improving expenditure efficiency.
Prepare provisional cost budgets and participate in budget preparation.
Determine the cost of inventory and production under operation and full production.
Participate in periodic and annual inventories and reconcile results with records.
Prepare profitability reports by product, project, or cost center.
Support management in making pricing, profitability, and cost-reduction decisions.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure cost data accuracy.
Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience in cost accounting, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector.
Proficiency in using accounting software, ERP, and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
Good knowledge of accounting standards and cost accounting principles.
Ability to prepare and analyze cost reports and budgets.
Strong skills in financial analysis and problem solving.
Accuracy, ability to work under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills with different departments.
