Procurement Manager
Company overview
We are a company specialized in trading and supplying all sectors and products of iron and steel, and we manage and execute purchases exceeding 1,000 tons monthly from the local market, whether from factories, importers, or traders, to meet our clients’ needs in various projects and sites within the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Due to the scale of operations and diversity of sourcing, this position requires a leader with strong experience in procurement management, capable of providing products at the highest quality standards, as quickly as possible, and at the best prices and payment terms, while maintaining supply continuity and building strategic relationships with suppliers.

Job objective
Lead and manage the procurement department to ensure the company’s needs for iron and steel products are provided according to the highest quality standards, best prices, and fastest lead times, while achieving the best contract and payment terms, and building a strong supplier network to ensure business continuity and enhance the company’s competitiveness.

Main responsibilities
1) Procurement operations management
Oversee all purchasing activities from receipt of purchase orders to fulfillment of supply.
Ensure products are provided in required quantities and specifications and on time.
Reduce purchase cycle time and improve execution efficiency.
2) Supplier management
Manage and develop the current supplier database.
Continuously seek new suppliers monthly to increase competition and reduce risks.
Periodically evaluate suppliers in terms of prices, quality, delivery times, and payment terms.
Build strategic long-term partnerships with major suppliers.
3) Negotiation and contract management
Negotiate to obtain best prices and trade discounts.
Improve payment terms and extend credit periods to support company cash flows.
Review and approve price offers, contracts, and supply agreements.
4) Market monitoring
Monitor steel and iron price movements daily.
Observe local market changes and supply-demand trends.
Monitor production capacities of factories, quantities available with importers and traders, and any changes that may affect supply.
Provide reports and recommendations to management on purchasing opportunities and potential risks.
5) Procurement team management
Lead the procurement team, assign tasks, and monitor daily performance.
Develop the team’s negotiation, analysis, and supplier management skills.
Set clear performance indicators and continuously improve team efficiency.
Foster teamwork and positive competition within the department.
6) Planning and control
Prepare monthly procurement plans aligned with sales and project needs.
Monitor performance indicators and analyze procurement costs and savings achieved.
Provide periodic reports to senior management on procurement and market performance.

Authority
Approve new suppliers according to company policy.
Direct negotiation with suppliers.
Select the most suitable supplier after evaluating proposals.
Approve purchasing recommendations within approved authority limits.
Manage and evaluate the procurement team.

Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Engineering, or any related field.
Prefer professional certifications in purchasing or supply chain management.

Experience required
At least 7 years of experience in procurement.
At least 3 years in a Purchasing Manager or supervisory role.
Direct experience in the iron and steel or construction materials market is a major plus.
Proven track record in managing large-scale procurement and negotiating contracts and high-value deals.

Skills required

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
