Role Description As a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer at ECB, you will lead the design and development of plumbing systems for building and infrastructure projects in Cairo, Egypt. This is a full-time, on-site role, responsible for preparing detailed designs, calculations, and technical drawings for water supply, drainage, and associated systems in coordination with multidisciplinary teams. You will review and validate design documents, ensure compliance with local codes, international standards, and project specifications, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers. Day-to-day activities include participating in design meetings, coordinating with MEP and architectural teams, resolving technical issues, and supporting site supervision teams with design clarifications and inspections. You will also contribute to quality assurance processes, value engineering, and continuous improvement of ECB’s plumbing design standards and workflows.
Qualifications
Strong technical expertise in Plumbing and Plumbing Design for building and infrastructure projects. Proficiency in Water Supply and Building Services systems, including drainage, fire protection, and related utilities. Experience working within Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) multidisciplinary teams and coordinating designs across disciplines. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; advanced degree is an advantage. Several years of progressive experience in plumbing design engineering, preferably with consultancy firms. Familiarity with relevant international and local codes and standards (e.g., applicable plumbing and building codes). Ability to use design and drafting software (such as Auto CAD, Revit, or similar tools) for plumbing and MEP design. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills, with attention to detail and quality. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and support junior team members. Ability to work on-site in Cairo, Egypt and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a structured manner.
