Role Description This is a part-time, remote Strategic Investment Partner (Angel Investor) opportunity within the Risk Rice ecosystem. This is not a traditional employment position. It is an opportunity for an investor to become a strategic partner, contributing both capital and expertise while working alongside founders to accelerate the growth of promising startups. The successful candidate will evaluate investment opportunities, review business models, financial projections, and market strategies, while providing strategic guidance across fundraising, business development, partnerships, go-to-market execution, and long-term scaling initiatives. The role also involves mentoring founders, participating in investment discussions, identifying high-potential ventures, strengthening portfolio performance, and connecting startups with valuable networks, partners, and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities Evaluate early-stage investment opportunities. Assess business models, market opportunities, and competitive positioning. Review financial models, KPIs, and startup performance. Provide strategic guidance on fundraising and investment readiness. Support founders in product strategy, business development, and go-to-market execution. Build strategic partnerships that accelerate startup growth. Participate in portfolio reviews and investment decisions. Connect startups with investors, partners, customers, and industry experts. Collaborate with the Risk Rice leadership team to expand the startup ecosystem.
Qualifications Proven experience in Angel Investing, Venture Capital, Private Equity, or startup investing. Strong background in Strategic Partnerships and Business Development. Experience in Consulting, Business Strategy, or Startup Advisory. Ability to evaluate early-stage companies from commercial, financial, and operational perspectives. Strong financial analysis and investment evaluation skills. Deep understanding of startup ecosystems, fundraising, venture financing, and scaling strategies. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent entrepreneurial or investment experience is highly valued.
