Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

A leading company in the Food Manufacturing and Export Industry is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead and oversee all financial, accounting, treasury, and financial planning activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the company’s financial strategy, ensuring robust financial controls, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting executive management in achieving sustainable growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

• Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Serve as a key advisor to executive management on financial performance, business risks, investments, and growth opportunities.
• Lead financial planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making processes.
• Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators and provide actionable recommendations.

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Oversee the complete accounting cycle and financial operations.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including:
  • Income Statement
  • Balance Sheet
  • Cash Flow Statement
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Analyze financial performance and present insights to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.

Budgeting, Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead the annual budgeting process across all business functions.
• Develop and maintain annual operating budgets, capital expenditure budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and analyze variances against actual results.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
• Support management with scenario planning and business forecasting.

Cost Accounting (Critical Requirement)

• Develop and maintain accurate product costing models for dehydrated products, including:
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Mint
  • Other agricultural products
• Monitor and analyze cost variances and operational efficiencies.
• Prepare detailed cost reports to support pricing, profitability analysis, and export activities.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to optimize costs and improve margins.

Export & International Transactions

• Oversee financial activities related to export operations.
• Manage Letters of Credit (LCs), Bank Guarantees, and trade finance instruments.
• Monitor foreign currency transactions and exchange rate fluctuations.
• Ensure proper accounting treatment of international transactions and export-related activities.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance (Egypt)

• Oversee all tax-related matters, including:
  • Value Added Tax (VAT)
  • Corporate Income Tax
  • Withholding Tax
• Manage tax audits and communications with tax authorities.
• Ensure full compliance with Egyptian tax regulations and statutory requirements.

Treasury & Banking Management

• Manage cash flow planning and liquidity requirements.
• Develop and implement treasury and working capital management strategies.
• Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.
• Oversee credit facilities, financing arrangements, and banking negotiations.
• Ensure adequate funding to support operational and growth requirements.

Leadership & Process Improvement

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Establish and strengthen financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and reporting processes.
• Support organizational growth through sound financial governance and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications are highly preferred:
  • CPA
  • CMA
  • IFRS Diploma/Certification
  • MBA (Finance) is a plus

Experience

• 15–20 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and financial management.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior finance leadership position such as CFO, Finance Director, Financial Controller, or Deputy CFO.
• Mandatory experience within manufacturing companies.
• Strong experience in export-oriented businesses is highly preferred.

• Experience within the food manufacturing, agricultural processing, or agribusiness sectors.
• Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and warehousing operations.
• Experience managing the financial impact of raw material price fluctuations and market volatility.
• Exposure to international trade finance and export regulations.
