Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Electrical Design Engineer role based in Cairo, Egypt. The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will lead the design and development of electrical systems for building and infrastructure projects, including power distribution, lighting, low current, and related systems. Responsibilities include preparing detailed design drawings, calculations, and technical specifications; reviewing and validating designs from junior engineers; and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements. The role involves coordinating closely with multidisciplinary design teams, attending project and coordination meetings, and supporting value engineering and design optimization efforts. The engineer will also review shop drawings and material submittals, provide technical support during construction, and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement of design processes.
Qualifications
Strong technical capabilities in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering for building and infrastructure projects. Hands-on experience in Design Engineering with a solid understanding of Electricity principles and system behavior. Proficiency in Power Distribution design, including load calculations, panel schedules, and single-line diagrams. Proficient in relevant engineering software (e.g., Auto CAD, Revit, electrical calculation tools) and MS Office. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline. Significant experience in consultancy or design offices, including leading or mentoring junior engineers. Familiarity with international and local electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NFPA, NEC, local regulations). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and quality. Effective communication skills for collaboration with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work on-site in Cairo, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
