Role Description The Procurement Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement of electrical products and related materials. This role includes identifying and qualifying suppliers, requesting and evaluating quotations, negotiating prices and terms, and issuing purchase orders in line with company procedures and budgets. The Procurement Engineer will coordinate closely with sales, engineering, warehousing, and finance teams to ensure timely availability of materials, accurate specifications, and optimal stock levels. Daily tasks include tracking orders, following up on delivery schedules, resolving discrepancies, maintaining supplier records, and updating procurement reports. The role also involves analyzing market trends, assessing cost-saving opportunities, and supporting continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier relationships. Qualifications Strong technical understanding of electrical products and components, with the ability to interpret technical specifications, datasheets, and drawings. Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, ideally within the electrical, industrial, or engineering sectors. Proficiency in vendor sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract or purchase agreement management. Good command of ERP or procurement systems and MS Office tools (especially Excel) for order processing, data analysis, and reporting. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and cost-analysis skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams and external suppliers in a professional, inclusive manner. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple orders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced trading environment. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) is strongly preferred; additional languages are an advantage. Familiarity with international sourcing, import procedures, and basic knowledge of logistics and customs is beneficial.
