Role Description The Mechanical Maintenance Section Head – Facilities Management will lead and supervise all mechanical maintenance activities for the facilities, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and systems. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Qesm 2nd 6 October. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning, scheduling, and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical systems, including HVAC, pumps, compressors, utilities, and related infrastructure. The role will coordinate inspections, diagnose equipment issues, and direct maintenance teams and contractors to execute repairs and improvements in line with technical standards and safety regulations. The position also involves reviewing and interpreting mechanical drawings, preparing maintenance budgets, controlling spare parts inventory, and implementing maintenance best practices and continuous improvement initiatives. The Section Head will collaborate closely with project management, HSE, and operations teams to minimize downtime, enhance asset life cycle, and support facility expansion or modification projects.
Qualifications
Strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, including knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and facilities utilities. Proven experience in Maintenance management, including preventive and corrective maintenance planning, supervision of technicians, and coordination with contractors. Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to read, interpret, and review mechanical drawings and layouts for facilities and equipment. Hands-on experience in Inspection of mechanical systems, reliability checks, condition monitoring, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Relevant exposure to Automotive or similar mechanical equipment and systems is an asset, especially in fleet, workshops, or transport-related facilities. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; advanced certifications in maintenance management (e.g., CMMS usage, reliability engineering) are preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and develop maintenance staff through coaching and training.
