Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Alexandria, Egypt, for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Technical Office). The role involves developing detailed electrical designs, drawings, and specifications for power distribution, lighting, low-current systems, and related building services. The engineer will review project requirements, perform load calculations, select equipment, and ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications. Daily tasks include preparing technical documents, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants, responding to RFIs, and supporting tendering and cost estimation activities. The role also includes reviewing shop drawings, conducting design revisions, providing technical support to site teams, and contributing to quality assurance and value engineering initiatives.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and Electricity, with the ability to apply engineering principles to building and infrastructure projects. Proficiency in Electrical Design and Power Distribution, including load calculations, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, cable sizing, and equipment selection. Experience in Design Engineering for building services, including preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Ability to interpret and apply relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations, and to coordinate designs with mechanical, architectural, and civil disciplines. Proficiency with design and drafting software (e.g., Auto CAD, Revit or similar), and familiarity with electrical calculation tools. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; advanced certifications or professional registration are an advantage. Demonstrated experience in a technical office role, preferably within construction, facilities management, or building services projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and quality. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and support site engineers as needed. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
