Role Description The Technical Office Engineer will support project teams by preparing and reviewing technical documentation, drawings, and reports to ensure alignment with project specifications and standards. This full-time, on-site role, located in 6th of October, involves coordinating with design, site, and procurement teams to verify quantities, track project progress, and resolve technical issues. Day-to-day tasks include preparing shop drawings, assisting in bill of quantities (BOQ) development, conducting quantity take-offs, and verifying contractor claims and variations. The Technical Office Engineer will also support design reviews for civil and electrical engineering aspects, ensure compliance with codes and client requirements, and help maintain accurate project records and documentation. Collaboration with stakeholders and timely communication of technical updates are key to success in this position.
Qualifications
Strong technical background in Civil Engineering, with practical knowledge of structural and infrastructure projects. Ability to prepare and review Shop Drawings, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with design standards. Experience in BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and Quantity Surveying for various project phases. Familiarity with Electrical Engineering coordination on multidisciplinary projects is an advantage. Proficiency in engineering and drafting software (e.g., Auto CAD, ASD, Revit or similar) and MS Office, especially Excel. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with site and office-based teams. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements in a fast-paced environment.
