Job Title: Financial Director (Reporting to CFO) Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Job Summary The Financial Director will support the CFO in driving financial strategy, planning, and performance across the organization. The role requires strong experience in the FMCG and tobacco sectors, with deep understanding of high-volume, regulated, and fast-paced commercial environments. The ideal candidate will lead financial operations, ensure compliance, optimize profitability, and provide strategic insights to support business growth. Key Responsibilities1. Financial Strategy & Leadership Partner with the CFO to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership Support mergers, acquisitions, and investment decisions where applicable2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights Monitor key KPIs including revenue growth, margins, and cost efficiency3. Commercial Finance (FMCG Focus) Drive profitability analysis across product portfolios and channels Support pricing strategies, promotions, and trade investments Work closely with sales and marketing teams to optimize ROI4. Regulatory & Compliance (Tobacco Industry) Ensure full compliance with local and international regulations specific to tobacco Oversee tax, excise, and regulatory reporting requirements Maintain strong internal controls and governance frameworks5. Financial Operations Oversee accounting, reporting, treasury, and cash flow management Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with IFRS or applicable standards Optimize working capital and inventory management6. Risk Management Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies Ensure robust audit processes and internal controls7. Team Leadership Lead and develop the finance team Foster a high-performance culture and continuous improvement mindset Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and commercial teams Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred) Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent)10–15+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant exposure to:FMCG industry (mandatory) Tobacco industry (highly preferred) Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role Strong knowledge of financial systems, ERP platforms, and data analytics tools Key Skills & Competencies Strong strategic thinking and business acumen Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills Deep understanding of FMCG dynamics (high volume, low margin) Knowledge of tobacco regulatory frameworks and excise structures Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills High level of integrity and attention to detail Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Preferred Attributes Experience in multinational or regional organizations Exposure to emerging markets Strong communication and influencing skills at executive level
