The Technical Office Engineer is responsible for transforming engineering designs into executable production plans. This role involves precise modeling, material estimation, and site coordination to ensure high-quality fabrication and minimal waste.
Design & Modeling: Create detailed 3D models and 2D production drawings for sheet metal components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
BOM Generation: Develop accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), including hardware (fasteners), coating requirements, and raw material specifications.
Process Routing: Define the Production Routing for each product (e.g., Shearing → Punching/Laser Cutting → Bending → Welding → Powder Coating).
Site Surveys: Visit project sites to lift dimensions (site measurements) and conduct technical surveys to ensure custom-fabricated parts fit perfectly upon installation.
Nesting & Optimization: Prepare cutting plans using specialized CAM/Cutting software to maximize sheet utilization and reduce scrap.
Flat Pattern Development: Convert 3D designs into accurate 2D flat patterns, accounting for K-Factors and bend deductions.
Technical Support: Provide the production floor with clear assembly drawings and technical guidance to resolve manufacturing issues.
