Job Purpose
The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and optimizing all manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, cost control, and on-time delivery. The role oversees production, maintenance, supply chain coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet business targets and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
- Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
- Monitor productivity and implement actions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Coordinate with planning and procurement to ensure material availability.
2. Operational Excellence
- Implement lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Analyze operational KPIs (OEE, downtime, yield, productivity, etc.).
- Identify bottlenecks and lead corrective and preventive actions.
3. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure production processes meet quality standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance to reduce defects and rework.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
4. Maintenance & Asset Management
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure machinery reliability and minimize downtime.
- Support CAPEX planning for new equipment and upgrades.
5. Supply Chain & Inventory Coordination
- Full coordination with procurement, warehousing, and logistics to maintain smooth operations.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Support demand forecasting and production planning.
6. Team Leadership
- Lead production supervisors, engineers, and operational staff.
- Develop team capabilities through training and coaching.
- Manage performance, discipline, and engagement.
7. Financial & Cost Control
- Manage operational budgets and control manufacturing costs.
- Monitor labor cost, material consumption, and overhead expenses.
- Support management with operational and financial reports.
8. Reporting & Strategy Execution
- Provide regular operational reports to senior management.
- Participate in strategic planning and expansion initiatives.
- Drive operational improvements aligned with company objectives.
