Job Summary
Performs a variety of general environmental, health and safety support activities to maintain a safe working environment and comply with safety standards. Supports the implementation of safety policies and procedures to promote a culture of safety and minimize workplace hazards.
Key Areas of Responsibility
• Plans and executes assigned Environment, health and safety tasks under the guidance of senior workers or group leaders to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement.
• Uses standard administrative tools wherever possible and develops new tools when needed and capable to enhance safety management and reporting accuracy.
• Provides training or guidance at the workplace about environment, health and safety matters to promote awareness and safe practices among employees and reduce incidents.
• Uses and recommends adherence to standard processes and procedures while proposing improvements to enhance environment, health and safety performance.
• Collects environment, health & safety performance data and assists with continuous improvement and root cause analyses to address safety concerns effectively.
• Tracks and communicates legal and Signify compliance requirements affecting their operation to ensure all practices meet regulatory standards.
Critical Experiences
• Secondary or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Two to three years of professional experience in a health and safety capacity, ideally within a corporate or industrial setting.
