About the Role We are a fintech company operating high-availability systems across staging and live environments.
This role sits within the team responsible for executing, validating, and troubleshooting configuration changes that directly impact our production platforms.
You’ll work hands-on with internal configuration tools, APIs, databases, and monitoring platforms, and contribute to improving how configuration changes are automated, validated, and documented.

Execute configuration changes across staging and production environments using our UI configuration tool Perform configuration updates via Swagger and Postman when required Validate and troubleshoot configuration changes to ensure system stability and correctness Work with MySQL and MongoDB to query, validate, and support configuration-related data Monitor systems and investigate issues using tools like New Relic and Kadeck Identify, analyse, and resolve configuration-related incidents and anomalies Participate in scheduled release activities, including pre-release checks, execution, and post-release validation (If required) Provide on-call support as part of a team rotation to handle production issues and urgent configuration changes Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product teams during releases and production changes Identify opportunities to automate repetitive or bulk configuration tasks Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation and operational runbooks Track tasks, changes, and incidents using Jira, and document processes in Confluence Follow change management and operational best practices for live environments Required Skills & Experience Experience working with configuration management or operational changes in staging and production environments Hands-on knowledge of REST APIs, including using Swagger and Postman Practical experience with MySQL and MongoDB (queries, basic troubleshooting, data validation) Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as New Relic and Kadeck Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a production environment Experience using Jira for task tracking and Confluence for documentation Ability to create clear, structured technical documentation Attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership when working with live systems On-Call & Release Expectations (If required) Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems outside of standard business hours Respond to incidents and urgent configuration requests in line with defined SLAs Support scheduled release windows, which may occasionally occur outside normal working hours Ensure clear handovers and documentation before and after releases or on-call shifts Proactively identify risks during releases and escalate issues when necessary Nice to Have Experience with Python and/or JavaScript for scripting and automation Ability to design or contribute to automation tools for bulk configuration changes Experience building or maintaining a configuration framework or standardized configuration approach Experience working in a fintech or regulated environment Exposure to release management or change management processes Basic understanding of microservices or distributed systems Experience supporting high-availability or customer-facing systems What We Value Careful and methodical approach to production changes Interest in automation and continuous improvement Clear communication and documentation Accountability and reliability during on-call rotations and releases Collaborative mindset and calm under pressure
