Overall Responsibility:
- Support the classification of products’ HS codes according to local authorities' regulations.
- Provide internal and external customers with necessary instructions (Green Light to ship) to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.
- Supervise all testing activities conducted by authorities to ensure compliance of our products/New Product Introductions (NPIs) with local regulations.
- Negotiate product modification inquiries with Global and Manufacturing Teams (including Offering, Quality, Engineering, R&D, etc.) to ensure compliance with regional standards and regulations.
- Prepare and conduct training sessions to update teams and customers on new regulations or processes.
- Collaborate closely with Line of Business (LOB) operation leaders to meet monthly AOP targets.
- Assign service providers and negotiate terms and conditions of related agreements.
- Proactively prepare documentation and information to ensure timely shipping and clearance of materials, thereby avoiding any related demurrage costs.
- Maintain effective relationships with local authorities and their representatives to receive updated regulations promptly and ensure product compliance.
- Register BA products with relevant authorities in the META region (Customs, Civil Defence/Fire Brigade, Telecommunications, Standardization and Metrology, Media, and Audio-visual) as required.
- Address customer pain points and issues regarding products, shipments, and authority approvals; engage with local and global teams to devise appropriate solutions.
- Arrange inspections of shipments as required by authorities or their representative agencies.
- Maintain an updated approvals library for all products in our portfolio and coordinate with manufacturing sites and certification bodies (e.g., UL, FM, VDS, TUV, Intertek, BRE) to complete formalities and renew licenses before expiration.
- Ensure the quality and reliability of components and products manufactured at the site through Quality Management Systems (QMS), ensuring conformity to design/specifications and installation standards.
- Identify areas of quality failures and implement system-wide preventive and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Initiate actions to resolve process and product-related issues based on internal/external customer complaints and warranty returns analysis for Honeywell-manufactured products.
- Ensure compliance with QMS to ISO 9001 across the META region.
- Monitor restricted Material Review Board (MRB) inventory and coordinate timely actions with the Cross-Functional Team (CFT) for rework, repacking, and scrapping.
- Provide quality support for implementing and enhancing Honeywell best practices, including HMX, Poka-Yoke, Six Sigma projects, quality circle projects, and Kaizen initiatives.
- Minimize rejections by maintaining adherence to process control parameters, ensuring compliance with procedures and standards.
- Conduct monthly reviews of quality metrics and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) in cases of negative trends against AOP targets.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in a quality function within manufacturing of fire products, electrical products, or building management industries.
- Strong understanding of local and international regulatory standards and requirements relevant to product certification (e.g., UL, CE, FCC, ISO certifications).
- Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, QS 9000/TS 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and audit exposure is preferred.
- Familiar with quality management tools such as APQP, MSA, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, and problem analysis tools (A3, 8D, etc.)
- Strong inter-personal skills for managing internal teams and liaising with overseas quality teams.
- Proactive and efficient in addressing and resolving key customer feedback issues.
- Ability to write and converse confidently in English.
