Reports to: Country Coordinator - Egypt Location: Cairo, Egypt Main purpose of the position The Administrative Assistant will provide clerical and administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the Country Coordinator Office in the Agricultural Genetic Engineering Research Institute (AGERI).
The role focuses on routine office administration, logistical coordination, and basic support for meetings, travel, and office supplies.

icarda.org. Main responsibilities Perform reception duties- meeting and greetings office visitors, handling all incoming calls & transferring it to the designated person, taking clear messages or notes, and photocopying.
Arrange meetings, field visits & appointments for the ICARDA/ AGERI staff as needed.
Provide clerical and administrative support to staff as required.
Assist in the delivery of the workshops/conferences with assigned tasks as required (preparing the participants folders, workshop materials, presentations, handouts and displays).
Assist when needed in preparing the travel expenses claim of the ICARDA/AGERI staff to be ready for payments.
Responsible for sending the office courier either by regular mail or express mail in coordination with the ICARDA Maadi Office.
Translating documents from English to Arabic and vice versa when needed.
Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and Purchase Request (PRs) in ICARDA OCS system for AGERI staff.
Coordinate presence, availability, office supplies and functioning services (e.
g., Printers, Laboratory needs).
Printing and photocopying reports and other documents, as maybe required.
Any other duties assigned by the Country Coordinator.
Terms of appointment, salary, and benefits This is a nationally recruited staff position open for Egyptian nationals for which ICARDA offers an attractive compensation package including a competitive salary, medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, five months’ maternity leave, 15 days’ paternity leave.
The successful candidate will be offered an initial contract of 3 years, renewable subject to continued need for the position and satisfactory performance.
The first 3 months will be a probationary period.

Education, qualifications, and experience Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Administration or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in administrative support.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Fluency in English and Arabic are required (oral and written.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with demonstrated skills in prioritizing tasks effectively.
