Chief Financial Officer – CFO

Location: Borg El Arab, Alexandria, Egypt (On-site)

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer – CEO

Department: Finance & Accounting

 

We are a leader in the chemical manufacturing industry, seeking an accomplished CFO to serve as the strategic financial architect for our Egyptian operations. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will translate data into decisive action, optimizing our manufacturing footprint and fueling ambitious growth across the region. You will be the key business partner to the CEO, entrusted with the integrity of all financial operations, the stewardship of our assets, and the strategic allocation of capital to build a more efficient, profitable, and sustainable future.

 

Key Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership & Planning (30%)

  • Develop and execute a forward-looking 3-year financial strategy in lockstep with our regional and global objectives.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and rolling quarterly forecasting processes, with a sharp focus on manufacturing efficiency and capital planning.
  • Evaluate and model financial proposals for major capital investments (plant expansion, tech upgrades, sustainability projects).
  • Champion the digital transformation of the finance function, implementing advanced analytics and automation to unlock insights.

Operational Finance & Manufacturing Excellence (25%)

  • Oversee all accounting operations (AP, AR, GL) and implement robust cost accounting systems (standard costing, variance analysis) for chemical production.
  • Manage end-to-end inventory valuation and control for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Optimize working capital, rigorously managing the cash conversion cycle and inventory turnover.
  • Direct treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and foreign exchange risk management.

Compliance, Control & Stakeholder Governance (20%)

  • Guarantee compliance with Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS), IFRS, and all local regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Egyptian Tax Authority, Customs Authority (including ACI system), and Financial Regulatory Authority.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment and coordinate all internal and external audits.

Business Partnership & Commercial Insight (15%)

  • Partner with Operations to analyze plant performance, driving initiatives for yield improvement and cost optimization.
  • Support the Commercial team with data-driven pricing strategies, customer profitability analysis, and contract evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on sourcing strategies and logistics optimization.
  • Provide financial leadership for HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) compliance initiatives.

Team Leadership & Talent Development (10%)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team of 15+ professionals.
  • Build a robust talent pipeline and implement succession planning for key roles.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and unwavering ethical standards.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. A Master's (MBA/Finance) is strongly preferred.A professional certification (CMA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is mandatory.Minimum of 12 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Experience in chemical manufacturing, process industries, or heavy industrial sectors.Hands-on experience with ERP finance module implementation and management.Comprehensive, demonstrable knowledge of Egyptian tax laws, customs procedures, and regulatory requirements.Fluent English (written and spoken, business language)Exposure to M&A, due diligence, or corporate restructuring.Proficiency with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau).A strategic thinker with exceptional business acumen and the proven ability to influence senior stakeholders.A leader with unquestionable integrity, results-driven resilience, and a decisive nature under pressure.An analytical mind with keen attention to detail, adaptable to a dynamic industrial environment.A committed advocate for safety, quality, and sustainability in all operations.
