Quality Engineer – Wood & Plywood

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes for wood and plywood products in line with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, and project management teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes of defects, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to minimize non-conformities.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed quality documentation, including inspection reports, test records, and compliance certifications.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier audits to ensure consistent quality of sourced wood and plywood materials.
  • Train and guide production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices for handling wood and plywood.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the quality control process.
  • Support commissioning and handover activities by verifying that all wood and plywood components meet project specifications.
  • Stay updated with advancements in wood and plywood manufacturing technologies and quality control methodologies.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Wood Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.3 to 5 years of proven experience in quality engineering, preferably within the wood, plywood, or construction materials industry.Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, inspection techniques, and relevant industry standards for wood and plywood.Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and documentation practices.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test results.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and laboratory equipment.Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations in manufacturing environments.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, onsite setting.
