Job Summary:
The Site Engineer is responsible for managing, directing, and executing construction works on a project site, ensuring that all activities adhere to engineering specifications, quality standards, established timelines, and safety regulations. This role involves both technical planning and hands-on supervision of labor and resources.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Execution and Supervision:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day execution of civil works, including structural, foundation, and finishing activities.
- Interpret and accurately implement technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications on the site.
- Prepare site layouts and ensure precise setting out (marking) of the works.
- Organize and supervise subcontractors and site labor for maximum efficiency.
Quality Control (QA/QC):
Conduct regular quality checks and inspections (e.g., pre-pour inspections, material testing).
Ensure all materials and workmanship comply with the required project standards and quality assurance procedures.
Document all quality-related activities, tests, and compliance records.
Scheduling and Resource Management:
Monitor construction progress against the detailed project schedule, identifying and reporting potential delays.
Coordinate the efficient delivery and storage of materials and equipment, minimizing waste and managing inventory.
Safety and Documentation:
Strictly enforce all site health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
Prepare and maintain detailed site records, including daily reports, progress reports, and site diaries.
Liaise with consultants, clients, and technical teams to resolve any technical issues or discrepancies on-site promptly.
