Business Development Engineer - Finishing materials industry

Our client is specialist in finishing martials looking for Business Development Engineer to drive business growth by engaging clients in the showroom and proactively building relationships within the design and construction community. This role focuses on understanding client needs, providing optimal solutions, managing inquiries, and promoting the company products to ensure a positive and professional brand experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Showroom Customer Engagement:
    • Provide a welcoming reception to showroom visitors (professionals and end-users), identify their needs, and guide them to suitable product solutions.
    • Address customer inquiries comprehensively and accurately regarding Terra's products and services.
    • Proactively follow up with customers via phone and WhatsApp to provide information and nurture sales leads.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable showroom environment that reflects the Terra brand and ensures easy access to product information.
    • Identify and develop sales opportunities with showroom visitors, meticulously documenting all follow-up actions in the system for effective customer management.

  2. External Business Development:
    • Conduct regular visits to design offices, consultants, and occasionally, contractors to introduce Terra and its product offerings.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to design professionals, assisting them in selecting appropriate products and suggesting innovative ideas for their projects.
    • Ensure product samples delivered externally are clean, well-presented, and accompanied by accurate and easily understandable information.
    • Proactively schedule and record all upcoming contacts and follow-up activities in the calendar system.
    • Regularly contact offices from the Key Account Manager (KAM) list to: 
      • Follow up on previous interactions and projects.
      • Determine their current engagement status with Terra (active, inactive, or new potential).
      • Verify the accuracy of contact information and identify any changes.
      • Utilize online resources (LinkedIn, Google) to update outdated contact details.
    • Accurately document all business development activities and customer interactions within the CRM system.
    • Manage and modify product codes within the branch and create new codes for customer samples.
    • Diligently pursue sales opportunities originating from Key Accounts.
    • Regularly update the status of open opportunities, including the next contact date and progress details.

Conduct consistent outdoor visits to key stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships


Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering (Architecture, Interior Design, or related field).1-3 years of experience in business development, sales, or technical roles within the finishing materials or construction industry.Strong understanding of finishing materials such as paints, coatings, flooring, or wall systems.Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and strong organizational skills.Ability to analyze market trends and identify business opportunities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
