Quality Control Engineer (Chemist)

  1. Quality Control Systems and Standards:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
    • Establish and monitor quality benchmarks for raw materials, in-process production, and finished products.
    • Ensure all quality control activities align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Participate in the development of product specifications and ensure that all processes and materials adhere to these standards.
  2. Inspection and Testing:
    • Conduct regular inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    • Perform dimensional, visual, and functional tests on products, analyzing any defects or non-conformities.
    • Use various testing equipment such as callipers, micrometres, and tensile testers to verify product quality.
    • Develop and implement new testing procedures as necessary to improve the accuracy and efficiency of quality assessments.
  3. Non-Conformance Management:
    • Identify and document any deviations from quality standards and take corrective actions as required.
    • Investigate and analyze the root causes of defects, waste, or product failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Work with production teams to resolve quality issues, ensuring that solutions are implemented effectively and timely.
    • Assist in the development of processes to prevent reoccurrence of quality issues.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of all inspections, testing procedures, and results for auditing and reporting purposes.
    • Prepare quality control reports, including data analysis, trends, and recommendations, for management.
    • Ensure that all quality control documentation is accurate, up to date, and accessible for review.
    • Provide clear and concise reports on quality issues, product performance, and improvement initiatives.
  5. Collaboration with Production Teams:
    • Work closely with production teams to ensure quality standards are followed during manufacturing and assembly processes.
    • Provide training and support to production staff on quality standards and best practices.
    • Participate in production meetings to address any quality issues and provide insights to improve processes.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving related to quality issues during production runs.
  6. Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization:
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, using lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methods.
    • Analyze production data to identify patterns or trends that may indicate areas for improvement in quality.
    • Recommend improvements in equipment, processes, or materials that would enhance product quality or reduce defects.
    • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of corrective actions and process improvements.

Bachelor's degree in science (Chemical) or relevantPrevious work experience as a Quality Engineer or similar roleGreat attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesIn-depth knowledge of blown film extrusion - Injection  - Lamination processes.Knowledge of film properties, film manufacturing technologies, and quality control equipment
