Job Overview:
A Camera Operator / Surveillance Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of security camera systems within an organization or facility. This role ensures the proper functioning of surveillance equipment, provides valuable video evidence for security or investigative purposes, and contributes to the overall safety and security of the premises.
Key Responsibilities:
Camera Installation & Setup:
- Install and position surveillance cameras in various locations as required by the organization.
- Ensure proper alignment and functionality for optimal coverage.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Regularly inspect cameras and associated systems for proper functioning.
- Perform maintenance and resolve any technical issues (e.g., malfunctioning cameras, storage issues).
Network Integration:
- Set up and manage IP-based cameras and ensure they are properly integrated into the organization's network.
- Troubleshoot network-related issues with cameras and video storage systems.
Data Storage Management:
- Ensure that video footage is archived securely and stored in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Manage the retention policy for footage and handle backups.
Collaboration with Security Team:
- Work alongside the security team to support surveillance needs for monitoring the premises and personnel.
- Assist in investigations by retrieving and analyzing footage from cameras.
Required Skills: 1+ years of professional experience as a Software camera , with a focus on Hik central professional.Knowledge of surveillance equipment, DVR, NVR systems, IP camera setup, and network management.Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with equipment and systems.Attention to Detail: Being able to notice suspicious activities or anomalies in the footage.Communication Skills: Providing reports or presenting findings effectively.Security and Privacy Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant laws concerning surveillance and data protection.
