About the Role:

We are seeking a Machinery & Irrigation Director to oversee and optimize the operation, maintenance, and strategic planning of agricultural machinery and irrigation systems. This role will ensure the efficient use of farm equipment, water resources, and irrigation technologies to maximize productivity while ensuring sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for machinery fleet management, irrigation system optimization, and infrastructure development, ensuring alignment with agricultural best practices and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Machinery & Equipment Management

• Develop and implement a comprehensive farm machinery strategy, ensuring optimal equipment utilization and maintenance.
• Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and lifecycle management of agricultural machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and specialized equipment.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational regulations for all agricultural machinery.

✔ Irrigation System PPlanning and Optimization

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of irrigation systems to maximize water efficiency and crop yield.
• Utilize modern irrigation technologies (drip, pivot, and smart irrigation systems) to optimize water distribution.
• Monitor water usage, soil moisture levels, and climate conditions to improve irrigation efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and water conservation regulations.

✔ Budgeting and Cost Control

• Develop and manage operational budgets for machinery and irrigation systems, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through efficient resource allocation and process improvements.
• Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to optimize procurement strategies for equipment and irrigation solutions.

✔ Cross-Functional Collaboration

• With Farm Operations: Align machinery and irrigation plans with planting, harvesting, and crop rotation schedules.
• With Supply Chain: Ensure timely procurement of spare parts, fertilizers, and irrigation supplies.
• With Sustainability Teams: Implement eco-friendly farming practices and water conservation programs.

✔ Technology and Innovation

• Introduce and oversee the implementation of precision agriculture technologies, including GPS-guided machinery, automation, and AI-based irrigation solutions.
• Utilize ERP systems (SAP preferred) and digital monitoring tools for real-time tracking of machinery and water usage.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance farm productivity and efficiency.

✔ Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, environmental policies, and industry best practices.
• Develop and implement contingency plans for equipment failures, water shortages, and climate-related risks.
